Our activities currently include: Biological Plant Nursery, Educational Courses, Local Land Stewardship, Polyculture Research, Market Gardening, and Consultancy and Design. Growing, selling and promoting the use of plants and plant communities that have high ecological and nutritional value Practicing an open source policy, whereby we disseminate our results freely and share all aspects of our work Several varieties produce inconspicuous flowers. They are deciduous trees or shrubs, but a few species are perennial sub-shrubs, and some of the woody types are evergreen. Providing consultancy and design for landowners and farmers across Europe Cornus is commonly known as dogwood, the varieties of which can be distinguished by their blossoms, berries, and bark. Providing quality education and training to aspiring growers and landscapers mas also produces small cherry-red oblong drupes in the summer. Valued for its early spring show of yellow flowers, C. Providing working examples of our designs at our sites open for the public to visit mas can be grown as a large multi-stemmed shrub or as a small oval-shaped tree. We aim to develop and promote practices that provide nutritious affordable food while enhancing biodiversity and work to achieve this by: Balkan Ecology Project is a family project run by myself, Sophie and our two boys Dylan and Archie, and supported by the amazing volunteers we have hosted here over the years. Prior to that, I worked as a freelance Arborist in the UK for 15 years. Originally from the UK I moved over to Bulgaria with my family 12 years ago and set up the Balkan Ecology Project. Zanthozylum piperitum is a truly remarkable tree that can be grown as a spiny shrub or a small tree and always seems to capture the attention of visitors, especially when they can see the pepper corns framed by attractive red husks. The stone is considered to be a byproduct of fruit processing and very little is known about its phytochemical composition and biological properties. The ESC volunteers learning from a local artisan blacksmith remains the least known morphological part of this plant, whereas the fruit is appreciated for both consumption purposes and biological activity. The fruit is an edible, red, olive-shaped drupe of about 2 cm, commonly used to make jams and distillates. The species is highly plastic and can grow in many kinds of soils and temperature ranges. We plan to package our blend with a logo design that represents the 2021 ESC experience for the volunteers to take with them, and to share with our friends and supporters. Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas) is a small tree or shrub. We attended a herbal remedies workshop hosted by Bulgarian expert herbalist Nadezhda Maksimova. The feedback on our tea blend was very positive, and Turkish ESC volunteers Ruhsar and Hekim also made traditional Turkish tea which was immensely popular with the festival goers. The Shipka Fest celebrates traditional arts and crafts and was a great opportunity to meet people and learn new skills. We’re really happy with the flavour combination, but wanted to get some more feedback and were delighted to have the opportunity to share the tea with some guests of the Shipka Fest that was held this weekend by Open Mind Foundation. One mix we are experimenting with is a relax blend, featuring the forementioned Lemon Verbena – Aloysia citrodora along with Lavender – Lavandula angustofolia, and German Chamomile – Matricaria recutita. & amp amp amp lt span itemprop=& amp amp quot name& amp amp quot content=& amp amp quot Cornelian Cherry Dogwood By Tiffany Bell.Earlier in the summer we harvested herbs from around the local area and our gardens to dry and make tea blends with.
